No More Bright Monitors at Night!

If you're quite the night owl and end up spending a lot of time staring at the PC monitor when most other people (at least on your side of the planet) are asleep, you'll probably be aware of the brightness of your monitor. Or, even worse, you open your laptop lid in the middle of the night and are blinded by the screen. A manual solution would be to lower the brightness of your display (or go to bed earlier), but this isn't something that's usually a practical option.

To fix this problem, there's a great tool called f.lux which adjusts the colours on your display to suit the time of day. What's even better is that it works on your Windows, Mac and Linux and is free! There's a noticeable difference in the display colours as the day goes on. However, it's not jarring or obtrusive and works really well.
